I was thrilled to be invited to a preview day where I would have the opportunity to sample some of the fabulous experiences the spa has to offer.
The ambience is serene; deep rich colours permeate the chic décor. Every attention to detail is addressed to ensure the clients will enjoy an ultra-relaxing experience. As my therapist, Sarah, welcomed me, I noticed that she was barefoot; this was another example of thoughtful attention to detail, as it would avoid any unnecessary noise as she carried out the treatment.
I began with the Biarritz Pedi-Spa. In my very own private room with Jack Johnson playing the background, I sat back in my heated massaging chair and placed my feet in the Pedi-Spa’s warm bubbles. As Sarah preened away, we chatted and found we had plenty in common. It was then I discovered that SK Clinic + Spa take the trouble to match the therapists to the client at booking. I obviously came across as a chatty, friendly person, which explains why I was matched with Sarah! The foot care she used was by Pevonia and the nail colours by Leighton Denny. My feet felt like new, gorgeous, soft and silky.
My next destination was the massage bed, which resembled the kind of luxury bed you would find in a boutique hotel. Nestling between the chenille, velvet and silk sheets, the lights were dimmed as my Pevonia Stone Spa Therapy began. Sarah used warm basalt stones with Pevonia oils to massage my body into complete relaxation. Having never experienced this form of massage before, it seemed to me to give the ultimate head to toe experience.
Unfortunately I can’t honestly describe what followed, as the ultimate accolade to any therapist occurred, and I fell soundly asleep during my Prescriptive Facial. The last thing I can remember is Sarah using a machine to prescribe my skin concerns. Luckily, her diagnosis was that I have little sun damage and altogether good skin. Following that great news the snoozing began.
I was a little sad at having to come back to reality. But once I’d had time to wake up I was ready to take in Sarah’s explanation of all the products that she’d used during my treatments. The Pevonia range sounds fantastic. Compared with average high street brands, which only contain 0.2% of active ingredients, products in the Pevonia range contain between 2% and 12% active ingredients, so are sure to promise results. Not only did I leave feeling relaxed but I felt rejuvenated too, my skin looked and felt special from head to toe, with that gorgeous glow that we just can’t recreate at home.
