Pevonia Rosacea Mask Treatment by Cathy Simmons

I have suffered with rosacea for several years now but find that a combination of the Pevonia RS2 products, used at home, and the in-spa mask treatments help to relieve the symptoms and calm my skin.

The Pevonia treatment is a lovely relaxing experience and a real treat for fragile skin. This is my account of a recent visit to SK Clinic + Spa.

Once in the treatment room, with low lights and relaxing music, my therapist cleansed my skin before applying lotion to my face. Steam is not used with the RS2 Mask, as skin suffering with rosacea is too sensitive.

Then my therapist massaged the RS2 concentrate to my face, neck and chest. Gauze, moistened with anti-stress eye lotion, covered my eyes which felt cool and soothing. A gentle pressure was used, so as not to over stimulate the skin.

She then applied a seaweed paste, all over my face, before covering with cool, damp, gauze. My face, at first, was cool from the seaweed. It feels so refreshing and the scent is pleasant too. This was followed by an application of the mask itself. The scent is quite strong (rose and quite sweet). My skin seemed even cooler when the mask was applied, which was lovely. Then the mask seemed to warm, you feel a tingle, but the heat isn’t going on to you – more like drawing out of you. It is a strange but pleasant feeling.

I had a neck and shoulder massage, while the mask does its magic. This just rounds off the whole experience and helped to relieve stress in my shoulders. The mask sets on the face, so the gauze is there to protect it.

After about 30 minutes the mask was removed by lifting it off my face in one piece and any remaining pieces were removed from my skin with a cool towel. The treatment was finished with an application of RS2 Care Cream.

As I left the Spa, my skin felt amazing, cool and refreshed, while my cheeks were clear. The redness had almost completely gone.
