CACI Microdermabrasion by Carly Adams
TREATMENT: A crystal free microdermabrasion with LED light therapy. It exfoliates the skin, leaving a brighter, smoother complexion and can help with acne, sun damage and fine lines & wrinkles. The facial is completed with a cooling, hydrating gel mask.
TALK US THROUGH IT: I have suffered with acne/problematic/oily skin, since I can remember and have always wanted to try microdermabrasion to see if my skin would benefit. I’m getting married in August this year, and I really wanted to try something that would make my skin look its best for the big day. I was a little unsure on this treatment, as when I go to a spa I like to relax during a nice massage or prescriptive facial, so this was going to be a very different experience.
Julie greeted me and took me through to the treatment room. She asked about my skin type, and what I was looking to achieve by having the Microdermabrasion. Julie then advised me what would happen throughout the different stages of the treatment. The CACI Microdermabrasion removes the top 2 layers of the epidermis, the red-light therapy stimulates, whilst the blue cools and heals the skin.
I laid down on the treatment bed, Julie dimmed the lights for ultimate relaxation, and we were ready to go. I was unsure if I was going to like the feeling of the CACI machine on my skin, but I loved it. The hand piece glides and vibrates across your skin, and in a weird way I found it very relaxing. Julie started on my forehead, going across it in small lines and worked her way down my face, and even onto my neck. Every now and then I could see the pink light making its way across my face. The vibrating sensation honestly sent me into a wonderful snooze-like state and after working over my face and neck twice, it was time for the gel cooling mask. Julie pre-warned me it would be cold, but it was so refreshing, and the scent of rose descended upon me. Once the mask was safely on, Julie then went over my whole face and neck again with the hand piece, by this time I was on the verge of starting to snore.
Once the microdermabrasion part was finished Julie then lightly massaged my face & neck, and this is when the snoring really started! I never imagined a treatment like this would make me feel so relaxed, but how wrong I was. The cooling gel mask was then removed, and Julie massaged the excess gel into my skin, followed by the Pevonia Sunscreen.
After waking from my snooze, the lights were slowly turned on and upon looking in the mirror, I could notice the difference straight away. My skin looked smoother, and fresh, don’t get me wrong a couple of my acne spots were red, but this is what the treatment does.
Julie advised me to see the real benefits from this treatment I would need more than one session, so I was straight down to reception booking in another 5 in the lead up to my wedding. The CACI Microdermabrasion was exactly the treatment I was looking for.
